Reviewed in the United States on October 13, 2021 Color: Midnight Black Maxi-Cosi is an established maker of car seats and baby buggies from the Netherlands. They sell in the USA through brick and mortar outlets including Nordstrom and Target, and online via Amazon and their own web site. And the price on the Maxi-Cosi site as of my writing for this Gia XP Three-Wheel system is the same $599 as here on Amazon. This travel system is comprised of the three-wheel Gia stroller and the Mico car seat. You can see product details of this system in the description on this page so I won't bother repeating them here. Let me just note that the child seat in the stroller faces backward, there are three reclining levels, access to the beneath-seat tray is available from the front through a panel in the child's leg rest, the push handle is height-adjustable, the stroller has a large canopy (in addition to the car seat canopy) and there is a spring suspension on (only) the front wheel. This is truly a lightweight system, though when it arrives consolidated in one box it seems fairly heavy and bulky--but that's with stroller, car seat and car seat base all bunched together. Separately, the stroller is average weight for a portable, fold-up stroller at this price point and it folds up into a small bundle. The real star of the show in the weight department is the car seat which is quite light. Light weight in a car seat could be a sign of cheap build, but not this time. The plastic in this car seat is thin and rigid--and therefore light--but the seat as a whole is solid and durable with extra side cushioning. Certainly, the upholstery is quality and the plastic underbody is reinforced by solid steel pieces at critical points such as the connections between the seat and the underlying base. Matte black plastic also keeps dirt from being as visible. The car seat's base works with a car's LATCH system for use in the forward position. The seat can also be used without the base and there is a sticker on the side of the seat which shows the location for the seat belt. The stroller is sturdy, light and kind of minimalist--though it comes with accoutrements like an attachable cup holder that increase the utility of the stroller at the expense of its sleek aesthetic. The unsuspended rear wheels are large enough in diameter that shock absorption isn't vital. The whole system is solid enough that I would hope to use it for many years with a number of children. It's a well-built, good-looking set from Maxi-Cosi, very much reflecting the Maxi-Cosi reputation for stylish quality. Originally posted on amazon.com

VINE VOICE 5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Seat And Stroller That Are Even Better Together Reviewed in the United States on November 1, 2021 Color: Midnight Black This is a terrific car seat and 3-wheel stroller set. Together they give you a complete system to safely and conveniently transport/carry your baby/toddler around while they’re in or out of your vehicle. All of the individual pieces of the system are really well designed and made. We particularly like the stroller. It is well made and sturdy, but it’s also not all that heavy, and can be loaded into your vehicle with minimal effort. The handle can be adjusted to your liking which makes it much easier for me to push. The stroller is also super easy to maneuver. I don’t have any problem steering it around with one hand. However, I am sure it would be substantially more difficult to do that if I were pushing around a 35-pound toddler. The car seat is fairly cushy and comfortable, and more importantly, the seat seems like it would do a really good job protecting a baby/toddler in an accident. The restraint system of the seat base and the seat itself both seem excellent. Additionally, while I’m quite confident that the seat’s solid construction will provide a lot of protection in an accident, the seat is also fairly lightweight. Which is important because there are lots of situations where you won’t be able to use the stroller and you will have to carry the seat/baby. Overall, this is a terrific travel system in my opinion. The whole system is really well done. It’s readily apparent that lots of attention was given to safety and construction quality. Consequently, I think the eyebrow raising price is the only thing I can reasonably grumble about, but as the saying goes, you get what you pay for.
